What to include

  • A call-out or trip fee on its own line, if you charge one
  • Hours worked and your hourly rate, kept apart from parts
  • Parts with sizes or model numbers so they match the job
  • Any warranty on your workmanship and the parts

Common questions

Should parts and labor be listed separately?

Yes. It shows the customer where the money went, and in many places labor and materials are taxed differently. Turn on "Split labor & materials" in the generator to get separate subtotals.

Can I add a call-out fee?

Add it as its own line, for example "Call-out fee", quantity 1. Make sure the customer agreed to it before the visit.
