What to include

  • Each task on its own line so the customer sees what was done
  • Hourly or flat-rate pricing per task
  • Materials you bought for the job
  • A minimum or trip charge, if you use one

Common questions

Should I charge hourly or a flat rate?

Either works. Put hours in Qty with your hourly rate, or Qty 1 with a fixed price per task. Many handymen use flat rates for common jobs and hourly for the rest.

How do I bill materials I bought?

Add them as Materials lines at cost or with your markup, whichever you agreed with the customer. Keep your store receipts.
